Shadow Boxes
Inspiration for Sarah's shadowboxes came out of a trip she took in August of 2017. She visited Chattanooga, Tennessee for a wedding, and on the way back home chose to take a scenic route along the Cherohala Skyway through the Cherokee National Forest. During that drive, Sarah stopped at a small shop along the way and saw another artist making animals out of rocks. Sarah loved these little rock creatures a lot. Upon getting home, she needed a gift for the person who had been taking care of her cat, so she created the first cat themed design in a picture frame. From there the shadow box idea was born because she wanted her creations to fit inside the frame, and she wanted to incorporate her own love of found natural objects and scrapbooking techniques to make designs that were unique to her style. Since then, Sarah has taken request of many types and created shadowboxes ranging from animals, to nativity scenes!
